About Dascha

The name Dascha comes from the nickname David received as a
child. As a young violin student,
his mother lovingly compared
him to the concert violinist
Jascha Heifitz. Now, Dascha
Productions is a company
that specializes in excellent
quality musical programs, private
lessons, and more.

Dascha Productions offers performances, music CDʼs and private music lessons. All of the products and services at Dascha Productions come from Davidʼs love and passion for music.   

David Tovey:
As a music teacher, David finds great joy in training students of
all ages. His 35 years of teaching experience include; Suzuki
violin lessons, public school keyboard classes for both adults
and children, public school string classes, and private lessons.
He currently teaches keyboard and strings in Widefield School District #3. Dr. Tovey has authored a violin book for beginners called Songs for the Young Violinist.

As a performer, David is experienced as a violinist, violist, and
vocalist. In the past, he performed both as a violinist and
violist with the Ft. Wayne Philharmonic. He currently performs
as a violinist and sings in programs of his own creation, as
well as with the Opera Theater of the Rockies and the
Colorado Springs Chorale.

Creating music is also a passion of Dr. Tovey's. He has published a number of musical compositions for string orchestras, and
has recorded several albums including Soulfloat, Heart's Desire, and The Heart of God.

David holds three degrees in music; a Bachelor of Music
Education from Bowling Green State university, a Master of
Music - performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and
a Doctor of Arts specializing in music theory and composition
from the University of Northern Colorado.
